Immigration Photos Changes from Side View Pictures to Front View Pictures |
9/10/2004
The DHS launched this change on August 2, 2004 and effective September 1, 2004, the agencies under the DHS have rejected the previous side view photos.
However, this change did not affect the Immigration Courts as the Immigration Courts are part of the Executive Office for Immigration Reviews (EOIR) which is an agency of the U.S. Department of Justice. Now, the EOIR announces that the last date when the immigration courts will receive the side view pictures will be October 1, 2004, and beginning from October 4, 2004, the courts will reject the side view pictures and take only the front view pictures.
The format requirement for photographs filed with the Immigration Court in conjunction with forms will change effective Monday, October 4, 2004. At that time photos filed with the Immigration Court must be full color frontal and passport style photographs rather than the three-quarter color photographs previously required.
All other photo requirements shall remain the same. This new requirement adopts the new photo standard recently announced by the United States Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS).
